  • Approval of invoice for Fly Sense devices from Soter Technologies for $9796.00 (VOTE).  
  • Budget Review
  • Update on Georgetown Youth Community Center (GYCC) summer events, status and discussion about how GeorgetownCARES can support its growth & progress. 
  • Discuss reappointments & potential new appointment. 

 

OLD BUSINESS: 

Action Plan Discussion 2019-2020 to include

  • Choice of 1, 2 or 3 Developmental Assets to focus efforts on building, based on the results of our 2017 Attitudes & Behavior Survey, to work on this year. 
  • Essex County Asset Building Network update & plans
  • Plans for expenditures of xxxx over this upcoming fiscal year. 
    • Budget Question: Can we encumber $ for the 2020-2021 year, particularly the $25,000 coming into the account in November? 
  • Discussion about goals, structure & outreach of future Community events. 
  • Potential Speaker Events, including 
    • Another “Hidden in Plain Sight,” 
    • Speaker on Anxiety in youth & families
    • Ashley Hall (Northeast Tobacco Free Community Partnership) re vaping & tobacco
    • Possible event around the 84?
    • a theatrical presentation re the Opioid crisis (more people are now dying of opioid overdoses than of breast cancer) by COAAST https://www.coaast.org/- Creating Outreach About Addiction Support Together.

The GeorgetownCARES Coalition Committee (GCCC) is a community health and safety initiative seeking to encourage Georgetown citizens of all ages to make safe, healthy and responsible decisions about substance-use. Our mission is to promote substance abuse prevention strategies, education and resources aimed at making Georgetown the healthiest community it can be.
