Requests for Reports

All requests for police records are handled by our Records Access Officer, Lieutenant Scott HatchTo make a request, please fill out the attached PDF and e-mail it to Lieutenant Hatch. His e-mail address is: shatch@georgetownma.gov.

Please note the following:

  • Lieutenant Hatch's normal office hours are Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm.
  • By law, he has up to ten (10) business days to respond to all requests for reports, from the time that he receives them. Ensure that you leave a good phone number or e-mail address so that he may get in touch with you.
  • There is mention of fees on the Request Form. Please note: we generally do not charge a fee for Records Requests. If a fee is warranted (e.g. significant volume of requests), Lieutenant Hatch will advise you of this before completing the request.
  • If you are requesting a copy of an Accident Report, you must submit your Operator Crash Report before our report is made available. Click here to access the Operator Crash Report.
  • There is a small handful of cases where reports may not be made publicly available (e.g. those involving ongoing criminal cases, domestics, juvenile cases, etc). Lieutenant Hatch will, however, provide you with an explanation as to why a report may not be released at the time of your request.
