Long-term Care Ombudsman Lunch and Learn Presentation Nov. 15

Georgetown – Join us for a program by AgeSpan staff regarding the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program during a Lunch and Learn scheduled November 15, 1 p.m. at the Georgetown Senior Community Center. Participants will learn how to be prepared, gain knowledge of how to navigate the long-term care system with more comfort, ease, and become knowledgeable of where to turn for help, so they don’t have to go it alone. The role of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program will be discussed including the importance of Health Care Proxies and Power of Attorneys, how to select someone to be the alternative decision maker and what these documents mean. Discussion will also include the differences between long term care settings, how to select a nursing home or assisted living, resources available in the event you or a loved one must go to a long-term care facility, and what rights an individual has in these settings.  To reserve a lunch for in-person dining before the program or to register for the program, please call the COA at 978-352-5726.
