Conservation Commission
In Georgetown the Conservation Commission is composed of five to seven appointed Commissioners, a Director and an Administrator Assistant. The Commission is responsible for applying the State and Local Regulations/Bylaws based on the State Wetland Protection Act in the process of building / renovation projects which fall within 100 ft from Bordering vegetated wetlands and Vernal Pools and intermittent streams, and 200 ft from Perineal Streams or are in a Natural Heritage of Endangered or Priority fauna and flora species. The process has a number of steps, which are listed on our website. If a project does fall within the regulatory domain of the Commission a hearing will be initiated upon the submission of the appropriate forms.
