Georgetown — A woman was sleeping when two men tried to break into her Taylor Street home Monday, according to police.

On Monday, May 9, at approximately 12:25 p.m., Georgetown Police Officer Klibansky and Master Patrolman Michael Gaddu were dispatched to 12 Taylor Street in Georgetown to respond to an attempted break-and-enter call.

One of the residents, a 20-year-old female, was sleeping at the time of the attempted entry into a rear first-floor window by two college-age male suspects with backpacks, according to Georgetown Police Lt. Dave Thomson.  Both suspects fled the scene on foot into the woods after the young woman awoke and yelled at them.

Backup assistance from three towns including Boxford, Groveland, Rowley and the state police, along with one of its K-9 units, was unable to retrieve either suspect.

The incident remains under investigation in the charge of Georgetown’s Detective James Rodden. A composite drawing of one of the male suspects is on file with the Georgetown Police Department. If anyone has any information, contact the Georgetown Police at 978-352-5700.
