GEORGETOWN — A fight at a local restaurant over the weekend has led to an arrest.
On Saturday night, police received a 911 call from an off-duty officer in the Georgetown Grille trying to break up a bar fight. According to police, Philip Lippens, 55, of Georgetown entered the restaurant from a back door in the kitchen area carrying a baseball bat.
"The off-duty officer did disarm him of the bat, but he did strike a party in the kitchen area," Lt. Dave Thomson said. "It is unclear why he was fighting or who he was fighting with."
Georgetown police charged Lippens with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a baseball bat) and breaking and entering in the nighttime for felony.
Lippens was arraigned yesterday in Haverhill District Court and is out on bail.
