Georgetown — Every year, for the last 10 years, the Georgetown Police Department has run the Georgetown Police Department Baseball Clinic.

This year, over 100 boys and girls between the ages of 7-12 attended the clinic. They learn more at the clinic than just baseball skills — they learn life lessons about working hard to improve your skills and teamwork.
This year, a number of former clinic attendees came back and offered to volunteer as assistant coaches. Tim Sullivan, pictured above, once attended the clinic. This tells you how important this program is and the impact it has on the children of Georgetown.
Each year, off-duty police officers assist and there is also a fully trained EMT Police Officer on scene in the event anyone is injured. The clinic is funded fully by a small user fee and donations from sponsors.
The Georgetown Police Department would like to thanks this year’s sponsors: Georgetown Baseball, Giant Glass, Bake & Joy, Mello Disposal, Georgetown Building Supply, Georgetown Savings Bank, Black Swan County Club, Keon’s at Black Swan, L.W.Bills Company, UFP Technologies, Nunan Florist, Rory O’Connor’s Irish Pub, Theo’s Restaurant, Crosby’s Market, and the Georgetown Police Association.
“Without their sponsorship we could not run this valuable program,” said Georgetown Police Chief James Mulligan. “I also want to thank the parents who support this program each year.”
