RE: Winter Parking Ban
Mr. Chairman and Board Members:
This is being sent as a reminder that as of December 1st, the Town’s winter parking ban will take effect. This will be in effect until April 1, 2009. No parking on any street is allowed between the hours of 1 AM and 6 AM. No parking is allowed on any street during a declared snow emergency (This is always done when any impending storm is forecast to be 6” or more in depth). The Boston radio stations are also notified. Any vehicles impeding or blocking snow and ice control will be towed at the owner’s expense.
If you’re parking overnight in the Park & Ride lot, please park all cars on the right side (when entering from East Main Street) during snowstorms. This will allow the plows to clean the entire parking lot without having to maneuver around parked cars.
I would respectfully request, as a courtesy to any residents that are not aware of this ban that you announce this communication at your next regular scheduled meeting. Copies of this communication have been provided to the press and cable TV.
Thank you in advance for your consideration in this matter.
Sincerely,
Peter J. Durkee
Highway Surveyor
