Board of Health

Mission Statement:

The mission for the Georgetown Board of Health is to protect the health and safety of our residents and those who visit our town.

Additionally, through its, Health Agent and Inspector they work to ensure, maintain, and improve the health and well being of the residents of Georgetown in accordance with state and local laws and regulations.

Some of our many daily tasks at the Board of Health include:

  • Soil testing
  • Septic tank inspections
  • Plan reviews
  • Food inspections
  • Issuing permits
  • Stable inspections

Aside from the many daily tasks listed above, the Board of Health and Town of Georgetown encourage education and expansion of knowledge and expertise. We continue to attend training and seminars on relevant topics including soil testing for soil absorption systems, legal issues, food safety, housing and a variety of other topics. We also investigate complaints on issues ranging from restaurant conditions to housing, septic, odor, and numerous others. We also disperse information to the public regarding Board of Health issues.
