Police respond to car vs. tractor trailer crash

Georgetown -
The Georgetown Police and Fire Department along with the Boxford Fire Department responded to two car accidents on Andover Street that occurred within minutes of each other just before 9 a.m. Thursday morning.
The more serious accident involved a car driven by a Rowley woman skidding on the icy road and hitting a tractor-trailer unit driven by a Peabody man.
Fire and EMS personnel responded to 397 Andover Street and treated and transported the drivers of the two vehicles, who had minor injuries due to the crash.
The car was towed from the scene.
Andover Street was shut down and traffic rerouted for more than 45 minutes due to the accident.
The Georgetown Highway Department re-sanded the roadway following the accident cleanup.
