Georgetown Police Thank TransCOR for Donation to Torch Run

Chief Cudmore with Thomas Haywood, President of TransCOR of Georgetown

June 15th, 2015

GEORGETOWN -- Police Chief Donald Cudmore would like to thank TransCOR for sponsoring the Georgetown Police Department's participation in this year's Law Enforcement Torch Run.The Torch Run raises awareness and money annually for the Special Olympics. Since its inception in 1981 the event has brought in over $100 million worldwide. TransCOR donated $100 to the department, which allowed them to enter one police vehicle in the event's cruiser convoy.  "This year's event was a great success due in part to the generous contribution and commitment from TransCOR," Chief Cudmore said. "We always appreciate community partnerships that allow us support important causes." Georgetown's TransCOR provides a variety of mobile computer systems for public safety officials in areas like dispatch centers, incident management, mug shots and more.
