Georgetown and Boxford Firefighters Operate at Motor Vehicle Crash
While responding to the master box for the Trestle Way complex just after noontime on Wednesday August 12th, Georgetown firefighters were toned out for a motor vehicle crash, possible car into a tree, on the Georgetown Boxford line.  Georgetown Car 1, Chief Al Beardsley, diverted from the box and had Car 3, Deputy Moyer, and Engine 1 take the call.  On arrival Car 1 found the crash was in Boxford.  The car was not into a tree but found it heavily damaged with two occupants, an elderly male and female, still inside the car.  The car was believed to traveling west on Rte 133, Willow Road, Boxford, when it veared off the road up and embankment and glanced off a utility pole.  Boxford requested Georgetown units to continue into the scene so Car 1 took scene command.
Boxford Rescue 2 was next on scene followed closely by the Georgetown Rescue.  Companies went to work first extricating the male driver followed by the female passenger.  Ambulances from the Byfield Fire Department and Trinity Ambulance transported the injured couple to Lawrence General Hospital.  Georgetown units were on scene for
approximately fifteen minutes before being released by Boxford.
