PreSchoolers Enjoy Fire Museum
Pre-schoolers from the Smith Family Treehouse Day Care Center were treated to a very special day recently when they visited the LW Bills Company in Georgetown.  LW Bills known for its design, installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems also has its own mini "fire museum" complete with fire patches, pictures and many historical items, played host to the small visitors.  At the same time District Fire Warden Andy Regan of the DCR as well as the on-duty members of the Georgetown Fire Department stopped by to talk with the kids.  During their tour of the
building the children were reminded about how and when to call "911" for an emergency and got a chance to practice Stop-Drop-Roll.  Outside the kids were given a chance to climb into Georgetown's Engine One and
District Fire Patrol vehicle 5-1.  To mark the occasion the kids were given bags filled with reminders about fire safety in addition to each getting their own "Smokey Bear" hat and fire helmet.  Fire Chief Albert Beardsley says, "Fire safety is a year-round concern and it's the mission of the Georgetown Fire Department to educate people of all ages
on fire safety and awareness.".  If you're interested in learning more about the Georgetown Fire Department, or would like to visit us, call the station at 978-352-5757 to arrange for a tour or visit.
