All Georgetown Fire Department apparatus are equipped with BLS medical kits, and ANSI compliant vests for increased firefighter safety. All frontline pieces of apparatus are equipped with AED’s and all primary structural apparatus have their own thermal imaging cameras. These important technological advances are key components of both firefighter safety and the safety of the public that we serve.

Ladder 1
Ladder 1 is a 2007 Ferrara 107' HD Aerial Ladder. Based out of the Central Station it has seating for six firefighters. L1 is euipped with its own thermal imaging camera, PPV fan, rotary saw, roof saw, a full complement of truck company tools as well as a 10kw hydraulic generator, pre-piped waterway, electric and air reels. L1 also carries over 150' of ground ladders as well as the majority of the departments technical rescue gear. In addition, L1 carries the Rapid Intervention Team equipment for the GTFD |

Engine 1
Engine 1 is a 2005 E-One Typhoon II based out of the Central Station that is set up for structural firefighting. E1 has seating for six firefighters, a 1500gpm pump and carries 750 gallons of water. E1 is equipped with its own thermal imaging camera, chain saw, electric reels, a 6000 watt Command Light for scene lighting and a remote controlled deck gun. Carrying over 1000 feet of 4" supply line and four pre-connected hand lines of 1 3/4 and 2 1/2 inch hose; E1 is ready for any situation.

Rescue 1
Rescue 1 is a 2003 Horton/International Medium Duty Rescue. R1 has seating for five firefighters and is assigned to Central Station. R1 is used primarily for all medical responses. Equipped with a full complement of BLS medical equipment including AED, epi-pens, glucometers and pulse-oximetry as well as all necessary specialty equipment for adult and pediatric care and stabilization. R1 also carries tools and equipment to fight fires and most any extrication problem it is faced with. R1 is equipped with a cascade system for refilling SCBA bottles, reels for hydraulic extrication tools, saws for cutting both wood and metal, a command area with awning, radios, and a laptop computer. R1 is topped off with a 9000 watt Command Light for scene lighting.

Engine 4
Engine 4 is a 1996 E-One based out of the Erie Station. E4 has seating for six firefighters, a 1250gpm pump and carries 750 gallons of water. E4 is equipped with its own thermal imaging camera, CO and gas monitoring devices. E4 also carries over 1000 feet of 4” supply line and has three pre-connected hand lines of 1 ¾ and 2 ½ inch hose. E4 formerly served for the Boeing Aircraft Company in Germany.

Combo 4
Combination 4 is a 1986 Pierce/International that is based out of the Erie Station. C4 has seating for three firefighters, a 450 gpm pump and carries 500 gallons of water. C4 is used for medical first response in the North end of Georgetown as well wildfire and urban interface situations. This truck formerly served with the East Farmingdale NY Fire Department.

Engine 5
Engine 5 is a 1999 HME/Central States that is based out of Central Station, this was the town’s first fully enclosed piece of apparatus. E5 has seating for six firefighters, a 1250gpm pump and carries 750 gallons of water. E5 is set up for operating along with the Rescue for motor vehicle accidents. Equipped with a top mount pump for operator safety, E5 carries a second set of hydraulic rescue tools, and added warning devices for use on the roadway. E5 also is our primary hazardous materials response apparatus, equipped with its own thermal imaging camera, booms, dykes, oil dry, CO and gas meters as well as other necessary tools and equipment for haz-mat duties. E5 is also equipped with a laptop computer, electric reels, a generator and tripod lights for scene lighting. Carrying over 1000 feet of 4”
supply line and five pre-connected hand lines of 1 ¾ and 2 ½ inch hose, E5 is a true all-hazards piece of apparatus.

Brush 1
Brush 1 is a 1983 2 ½ ton truck acquired through the Federal Excess Property Program. B1 is based out of Central Station and has seating for three firefighters. B1 is equipped with a 500 gpm pump, 865 gallon poly tank, chainsaw, floating pump, handheld and backpack extinguishers as well as a variety of other power and hand tools for use at brush fires. B1 is used for brush, grass and wildfires and is known for its ability to get lots of water most anywhere it needs to go.

Forestry 2
Forestry 2 is a 1984 Chevy pickup acquired through the Federal Excess Property Program. F2 is based out of Central Station and has seating for three firefighters. F2 is equipped with a 250 gpm pump and 225 gallon poly tank, handheld and backpack extinguishers as well as a variety of power and hand tools for use at brush fires. F2 is used for brush, grass and wildfires as well as transporting the boat for all water and ice related emergencies.

The Boat
”The Boat” is a 13 ft flat bottomed aluminum boat. Housed at Central Station and towed by Forestry 2, “the boat” is used for any water or ice emergencies. The Boat is equipped with a number of PFD’s, survival suits and throw ropes as well as the Rescue Alive Ice Sled.

Car 1
Car 1 is a 2003 Ford Crown Vic. Car 1 is equipped with full medical gear, command and control equipment and serves as a platform for a cross-band repeater for use throughout Essex County.
