Residential Lockbox Program
The Georgetown Fire Department is proud to announce the implementation of our “Residential Lockbox Program”. The goal of this program is to assist emergency services by having rapid access to door keys of at risk residents of the Town of Georgetown. The at risk population that the Georgetown Fire Department wishes to assist with this program are independently living seniors and residents with disabilities. In the event of an emergency the ability to have rapid access to door keys can save valuable time and save property by eliminating the need for the Fire Department to force entry into the home.
The Georgetown Fire Department has used this system with many commercial properties in Georgetown for several years. The Lockboxes are metal boxes secured to the exterior of the home with a lockable door and have a key that only the Fire Department has access to. The Lockboxes retail for under $200. If you have any questions regarding this program or would like information on how to get a Lockbox please contact the Georgetown Fire Department.
